DOTS – Born of research and passion

David Dickson

Life Performance Limited is the company that owns the intellectual property used by DOTS™. Life Performance was established in 2001 and has delivered precognitive communication programmes and workshops globally since its inception.

What is now known as DOTS™ came out of a five year collaboration between David Dickson and Chris Boon . Together they wrote and developed the concept of Precognitive Natures as part of a four day self development workshop called FREEMIND™. As the word Precognitive (before thought) suggests, the programme looked at how we uniquely assimilated data through our different senses before we even had a chance to think.

David and Chris felt the need for a simple and and practical communication model that lost little explanatory value as a result of simplification. The result was a highly accurate yet simple method of self-understanding that gives the user the ability to dramatically improve their communication skills.

David is a widely traveled behaviourist and former research journalist , who spent over 20 years researching personality profiling and communication styles and has devoted his life’s work to further develop this unique communication tool.

Around 2001 David formed Life Performance Limited and shortly after that he met Pam Wallace, a highly experienced HR Manager with a passion for Learning and Development who also had a strong corporate background. With Pam’s knowledge of Learning and Development, they were able to take the precognitive concepts from the FREEMIND™ course and develop the formula that is currently used to deliver DOTS™.

David and Pam worked together under the Life Performance banner. David was the founder of the company and still delivered DOTS™ seminars until his death in August 2017. Pam is the Managing Director and as well as delivering courses, trains new facilitators and licensees. Chris has gone on to develop a very successful career in the insurance industry. He is currently the owner of Adelphi Insurance Brokers and using the skills developed working alongside David, has trained, coached and mentored many advisers to develop very successful insurance careers.

Life Performance Limited is based in Cromwell, Central Otago and is committed to helping people help themselves.

The Four Dots

Have you ever wondered why some people are easier to talk to than others? When you struggle to get along with someone, or they take your words the wrong way, do you get frustrated with them? What if, it wasn’t them? What if, it was simply that you weren’t speaking their language? Most of us have been brought up to believe that, if we treat people the way that WE would like to be treated, that’s the right thing to do… But as it turns out, this isn’t necessarily true! Not everyone likes to be treated the same way that you do. Not everyone likes to receive information in the same way that you do. Not everyone likes to be appreciated in the same way that you do. The reason for this is – because there are actually four very different communication styles in the world, and although we are all made up of a bit of each of them, we are more dominant in one than others…

So from time-to-time we come into contact with someone of the same communication style to us, and we get along with them fine. Yet, 3 out of 4 times, we meet people who are slightly diverse, and communicate in a different way to us, and we tend to believe they are just hard to get along with. This hit-and-miss situation reinforces the idea that ‘some people’ just don’t get us, and that is when we enter a vicious cycle. We take our experience as being literal. Misinterpreting what is actually happening, and creating an illusion that we then live into that is self-fulfilling.

What if, it didn’t have to be this way? Imagine for a moment, if when you met someone you could identify what their likely communication style was, and adjust your conversation so that you spoke to them how THEY wanted to be spoken to; treated them how THEY would like to be treated? Imagine what that would do to the quality of your communication with EVERY person you spoke to? Well that is exactly what we can show you – with Dots Precognitive Communication training. Dots is a simple, effective, and fun communication course, where you will discover why people think and act the way they do. You will gain an understanding of your own natural communication style, but just as importantly, how to identify the communication style of others so that you can speak to them in their language.

With DOTS you will discover:

  • More about your true nature, and how that colours your views and decisions,
  • More about others and how to overcome communication differences,
  • More on how to understand yourself and those close to you.

One of the secrets to Dots’ success is that it is simple! It is easy to understand, and easy to remember, which makes it really easy to use in your everyday life! How is it so simple? Let us explain… As we said, there are only four communication styles in the world. We have given them each labels, which most people forget, so in order to help you remember, we have given them each a colour (the four Dots):

It is important to know that each communication style (Dot) is very different, and has very different needs – but that’s the beauty of it! We are all different, and we each have different strengths and weaknesses, and the world would be a pretty boring place if we didn’t. So why are we telling you all this? So that you can start to see that your natural style of communication is only one of four, and that in order to get along with others, you must understand how to communicate in each style. Doing so will make your life much easier, less stressful, and more enjoyable. Once you are able master the art of communication, you will become more successful in every area of your life! It is time to discover how Dots is changing the way the world communicates…
